The Desert Queen

The Desert Queen head frame was used between 1901 to 1929.

One of the major diagonal frame members is completely rotted off at the footing.  Several structural trusses have pulled loose and fallen.

April 26, 2023 – Simerson Construction started working on the Desert Queen footings!

All legs have been cut away and they are working on digging new footings. Concrete was laid on May 3, 2023. See the progress photos below.

Your donation will help ensure the preservation of this iconic mining history. As time passes foundations crumble, superstructures need wood replacement, and steel needs repair. Please help us preserve the Desert Queen head frame for future generations.
